What makes a successful photographer? American photographer Steve Thornton has a lot to offer in answer to this question. "It's important to develop your own style, a style that is recognizable
and  a style that can be booked. Essentially you've got to brand yourself like a product that can be consistently recognized.
Steve's style is exemplified by his recognizable use of color, light, form, and stable credibility.

Magazine refers to his newly founded on-line "network" as a United States of Photography.  This is not a "social networking" site like Facebook or Xing but more a support network. It is intended to be the first place for working professionals to turn to for help and support.

George Schaub editor-in-chief of Shutterbug reports on the new happenings in the photo world. Most recently the mirror free cameras seems to be gaining market share and the with the reduced mass, the bodies can be made smaller and therefore more attractive.

Another interesting trend is the intuitive nature of the information available in the viewfinder, This frees the photographer to concentrate on the composition while still seeing the detailed exposure information.

We`ve prepared a new film providing a look at the FEP. The  Federation of European Photographers
represent over 50,000 photographers in 20 european countries. Their press office Jorgen Brandt shares with us the plans for the upcoming  3 day congress in Lyon France. Over 1000 visitors are expected with featured speakers Martin Parr and Sarah Moon as well as other prominent photographers from the community.

In this photokina presentation David Tobie the product technology manager from Datacolor gives us an introduction to SpyderCheckr.

SpyderCheckr is an innovative color management tool for calibrating camera RAW files. This isn't just tweaking the display to get the right color balance, but a real in-the-camera solution. A good application for this tool might be the situation where you have multiple camera bodies that deliver different color results. David Tobie shows us how it works!
