In focus this week: Wildlife Photography

Submitted by Uma on March 1, 2010 - 20:22.

Hi

Its probably the impending Spring season that made us bring out a special video on wildlife photography! Our new video for this week features photographer Chris Gomersall, best known for his tenure at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Hopefully the video and the new season, would inspire many of you to focus on nature conservation, bio diversity and ofcourse the pretty pretty birds ;) (on camera and off camera too)

Also coming up later this week is our next News Show (the third edition) and you can watch it right here, if you stay tuned to this space ...

until soon,

Uma

New videos for the week!

Submitted by Uma on January 18, 2010 - 22:00.

Hi there,

This week's new release includes a Fred Picker film that shows how to print photographs by burning and dodging previously selected areas of the photograph.

The second video features the late and renowned photojournalist, Christian Poveda. In this video he talks a bit about himself and his documentary, La Vida Loca - which is about the gangs of El Salvador. Its ironical that he was killed by the same gangs that he filmed and photographed for his documentary, but this video is special in the sense that we see and hear the story from the man himself.

For those you who have just got started with FotoTV, look out for our two new videos every week!

if you have any comments or ideas on how we can make FotoTV better for you, let us know.

cheers

Happy new year!

Submitted by Uma on January 4, 2010 - 22:24.

On behalf of the team at FotoTV, I would like to wish all of you a very happy new year! I hope in the course of this year (and many more to come), you will have the chance to capture on camera, pictures that will be preserved for posterity!

As a new year release we have two new videos for you, both on the subject of nude photography. Contrary to popular belief, nude photography is not always at attempt at eroticism. Jeff Bark's video on this type of photography further confirms that. Its interesting to note how he uses non professional models to create great photographs out of nothing'.

The second new video this week features photographer Steven van Veen. He shares some tips, the definition of high key and techniques on how to enhance specific details of a model for fine art photography.

I hope these videos get you into the groove for the new year. We have more interesting nuggets of information coming your way with our future releases.

So keep coming back for more :)

Best Wishes
Uma

Our last video release for 2009

Submitted by Uma on December 29, 2009 - 22:27.

Hi there..

As you prepare to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010, we have for you as the last release of 2009, a video clip of photo-curator Graham Howe. He shares with FotoTV subscribers a story about renowned photographer E.O. Hoppé, and how by chance he discovered the stored archives of Hoppé's photography.

Besides the above video, we also have the second edition of FotoTV.News! And the highlight of this show is Paris Photo 2009. This news show brings you exclusive conversations with noteworthy photographers and curators.

So enjoy yourselves, party hard and more importantly, stay safe!

We'll be back in 2010 with more chicken soup for the photographer's soul (by that, I mean videos...or did you think we were moving to culinary pursuits?)

Prost!
