Working for the Killer Image
In this FotoTV. interview Bruce Gilden from New York presents his photographic work. Gilden is a photojournalist and paticularly known for his work on the New Yorkers.
In 1969 he made the first photo that was - in his eyes - credible. It happened on the beach at Coney Island where many famous photographers made great pictures.
There he created his first big photo report that dealt with the visitors of the beach. He chose those people who didn't fit into societies norms, for example because of their physique.
The claim to find people that stand out from the mainstream runs through several decades of his work.
