Eric Tcheou lives and works in Brussels. He studied art history and both chemical and mechanical engineering.

In our FotoTV.interview he talks about "The Cicada’s Song”, his first photo book published in 2014. Inspired by a japanese haiku the book is about how we can deal with our impermanent nature and how to deal with the pain one could feel when surrounded with fundamental questions without answers. A sentence which Eric carried with him to make this project is "What does the wind do when it is not blowing?"

Eric’s photo book is like a vanitas: Through repeat reading the viewer is encouraged to meditate on impermanence and to understand the emptiness of appearances.
