Master photographer Martin Krolop based in Cologne is here with the first in a series on lighting techniques. The technique presented here, known as light feathering allows the user to get the most out any given light source.

Important to get the key concepts before traversing further, Martin lays down the basics in a clear and concise manner. So when you do understand what you're doing, you will be able to apply this technique to your unique advantage. This is one of those "less is more" concepts, but careful attention to detail and placement are the factors that exploit the physics of light so that you can make full body shots illuminated with a uniform light... and who needs more than one light anyway?
