Summary

Today, Steven van Veen's topic is "Low Key".

A low key photo is a picture that has a lot of dark in it with just a few limited areas of light.

You don't need lots of things for a freat low key photo: A simple striplight softbox and a model is enough for great nude or lingerie shots. Have a look!

Sketches...

are sometimes really helpful. Just scribble down the positions of your lights, the model and your wall (against lens flare). Then write down your camera (aperture, shutter speed...) and light settings.

It really helps to try different settings... and it is always nice to have your own "manual"... sometimes... the time is short and the brain is weak...

Strobist

As a strobist i wonder if there are any tips, how-to's about getting the same effect but using spreedlights ?!

Cheers

Light colour

I wonder,which light colour the softbox had. Maybe 5000 K ?

@Strobist
Maybe 2 or 3 speedlights with an umbrella can be placed above each other.
