Photo Art

Hello,

I was recently speaking with a photographer who told me that when he was taking pictures in the 1960s he was doing it strictly for himself. There were virtually no galleries and no market for photography as form of art. At those times you could buy a steichen print for a few hundred dollars which are now worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Today the market for Fine Art Photography is well developed. Fine Art Photography is big business and some even wonder if the market isn’t actually overvalued.

In this program, we want to introduce you to the worlds of Fine Art Photography and Contemporary Photography by interviewing well-known photographers, introducing you to gallery owners and collectors and exploring the roles of all those who work within these domains.

Yours, Marc
