Shooting Portraits During Midday

Steven van Veen is not Afraid of Sunlight

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

On location in the Provence (Southern France) Steven von Veen helps us master the light situations when the midday sun is high in the sky.

Many are forewarned not to shoot in these strong light situations. We get three valuable strategies to deal with the harsh lighting. The lovely Felicia helps demonstrate some posing techniques to exploit the strong light. The old adage "Where there is light there is shadow" is then demonstrated by using the available reflected light to produce excellent portraits. And finally using filtered shadows to create interesting patterns on the subject. The main message is don't let the harsh light keep you from making great pictures.

Use it to your advantage and let Steven von Veen show you how.
