Lingerie Shooting with Steven Van Veen

Summary

Steven Van Veen demonstrates in this video that you can create very interesting lightsettings with little money:

Two fluorescent lamps and a model.

Then it's up to the photographers eye to place light and model in a way, that the light can unfold and draws its shadows on the models body.

Great!

Another great video with Steven Van Veen!
I really like the way he describes his way shooting a model.

It's clearly understandable an has a good effect on learning how to use and position lights!

If you...

are mostly interested in shooting close up portraits (of faces)... there are some interesting products from "brennenstuhl" (Germany). I use some of the products for filming. They are normally used for other purposes, but they are (and because of that) robust, well made and not really expensive.

Some of them have more and others have less power, but if you place them near your object they normally have enough power to make them usable.

I couldn't find the one I use the most on the website, but I think they are pretty similar.

Don't forget to check your white balance and make a couple of testshots. Like Steven said, it is better to shot in RAW... and set your white balance with Lightroom or another RAW Software.

Here is the link to the website and the products that are close to the ones I use.

They have some other interesting products, too.

brennenstuhl

It would be interesting to find out where to purchase the lights Steven is using on the internet or local stores.

Please post for us... who love this kind of light.

I think you can find these

I think you can find these informations on the german side from FotoTV

tripod light

If you google tripod light you will find these kind of lights. There are of course continuous light-sources available even with barn-doors to flag the light. Also in the cheaper range like falcon eyes etc. You could also use the modeling lights from strip lights (softbox). If you have them that is.
